Seagate Back Released Barracuda Pro 12TB Newest Consumer Based Drive With Helium Technology

Not only for a dedicated NAS environment, Seagate is reportedly also re-present the latest flagship model of its newest in the BarraCuda Pro series is “Versatile, Fast and Reliable” with 12TB storage capacity support.
As one of the flagship product line that has been stable in the Seagate range for the last 20 years, making BarraCuda product line seems feasible to be maintained and even strengthened its existence. After a pause in the naming convention of the product, Seagate reportedly has brought back the iconic greatness as part of the Guardian Series lineup that also includes IronWolf and SkyHawk.

Rely on a round speed of 7200 rpm, the hard drive can be operated with the support of a large onboard cache of 256MB for faster access to frequently used applications and files. Thanks to the 7.8W power intake used, making it one of the lowest power intakes on the current 3.5-inch storage media.

Comes with a 6Gb / s interface that became its flagship, Seagate BarraCuda Pro 12TB also supports maximum transfer speed up to 250MB / s. In addition to offering a 5-year limited warranty and 2-year data recovery included with Seagate Rescue if the hard drive fails early, the new Seagate BarraCuda Pro 12TB hard drive is also priced with the same price tag as the Seagate IronWolf Pro 12TB about $ 430.

Both Seagate BarraCuda Pro 12TB and Seagate IronWolf Pro 12TB are both using Helium Technology and have eight plates in it. In line with what Seagate has done, Western Digital has also previously presented a new hard drive containing helium (helioseal) with more storage space (14TB to be exact) intended for enterprise use called HGST Ultrastar Hs14.
