As expected, Sony has launched Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact at IFA 2017, where both Xperia XZ and X Compact continue to slide last year. Both of these previous smartphones often appear on leaked reports, and so far leaks that appear before it has been confirmed by Sony because this smartphone comes with the expected specifications. This time we will discuss about Xperia XZ1 as the main model.
By design, this smartphone does look similar to Xperia XZ Premium which slid early this year, but with design improvements. Xperia XZ1 comes with a smaller size, which has a screen area of 5.2 inches Full HD 1080p resolution with HDR Display features and has been coated with Gorilla Glass 5. Just like other flagship Sony, this smartphone also has pocketed IP 68 certification for resilience water and dust. As usual, Sony still puts the fingerprint sensor on the home button.
Xperia XZ1 comes with a flagship chipset Snapdragon 835 is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can still be expanded using a microSD. But if you want to use microSD, you have to give up the two SIM slots because the slot is carried hybrid. Not to forget, this smartphone also has run Android 8.0 Oreo directly from the box and has a 2,700mAh battery.
Well for the photography sector, it seems Sony has not intended to plunge into the dual-camera segment because of its flagship this year still rely on a single camera. Xperia XZ1 camera system that carried the same as XZ Premium, the Motion Eye with a 19MP sensor that features Predictive Capture. The feature will take a few seconds before you actually press the shutter button to cut things that do not cool.
Interestingly, Xperia XZ1 camera can also record 720p super slow motion video at 960fps in addition to recording 4K video with a standard speed. But while offering Sony’s SteadyShot electronic stabilization for video, this camera does not have optical image stabilization for its stabilization. As for selfie, you can use the front camera 13MP resolution.
This smartphone has entered the pre-order period in Europe for a price of £ 599. While delivery will begin on 22 September.
