WD My Book Duo 20TB Ready to Release September Upcoming

If the capacity of your external storage media is still insufficient to accommodate your current workflow data, perhaps the latest edition of the My Digital DuPage made by Western Digital can be a solution to the problem you are facing.
Relying on the existing dual drive bay, the new My Book Duo is ready to offer a super-sized storage capacity of up to 20TB by placing a 10TB WD Red 7200 RPM hard drive reinforced with RAID on each of the existing bay drives. Having factory configurations on RAID 0 by default that can be reconfigured for RAID 1 or JBOD, this 100x180x160mm 20TB drive is claimed to be capable of achieving sequential read speeds up to 360 MB / s when operating in RAID 0 configuration.
Each level of RAID offered turns out to be an advantage and there are also shortcomings to be considered carefully before use. RAID 0 offers higher performance levels by stripping data on both drive bays but no redundancy, while RAID 1 reflects existing data on both drive bays thus providing greater protection against unrecoverable read errors (hard drives fail).
The total amount of disk space it uses can be reduced by half is one of the disadvantages that it may cause. While on the other hand, the JBOD configuration allows end users to take full 20GB capacity on both existing hard drives at the expense of data speed and redundancy.
Offer NTFS format, making My Book Duo compatible with Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10 operating system. Reformat is required for use with other operating systems. Besides being equipped with 256-bit AES encryption and password protection to keep the data secure, Western Digital also provides other support features, such as WD Backup, WD Security, and WD Drive Utilities to help manage existing data.
Support a USB 3.1 Type-C port and two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, allowing My Book Duo to be used for accessories such as flash, webcam, or keyboard and mouse. Not only that, these ports can also be used to mencas (charging) devices such as smartphones and tablets. Even for the sake of ease of operation, Western Digital reportedly also has included USB-C cable to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A on the existing packaging box.
Scheduled to be available on September 6th, My Book Duo is priced from $ 279.99 for 4TB models up to $ 849.99 for the 20TB model.
