September is coming soon, and we can expect the world’s top smartphone manufacturers to release their latest smartphone, including Xiaomi. Rumors previously circulated revealed that Xiaomi plans to release Mi MIX 2 in September. Finally the company confirmed via his Weibo account, that Mi MIX 2 will be released on September 11th.
Apparently Xiaomi wants to challenge Apple, where rumors have been circulating so far say if Apple will hold an event on September 12 to release iPhone 8, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. If that’s true, it seems Xiaomi wants to compete directly with Apple, where both Mi MIX 2 and iPhone 8 both come with full-screen design.
According to the poster uploaded Xiaomi, there is a description if Mi MIX 2 will come with a full-screen 2.0 design, which means it will offer a thinner bezel than the first generation. According to previous rumors, Mi MIX 2 will come with a body-to-screen ratio of up to 95%. In addition, Mi MIX 2 is also said to be carrying a screen smaller than 6 inches which will offer apsek 18: 9 ratio.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 itself is designed by French designer Philipe Starck who has also designed the first generation Mi MIX. Even Starck previously also released a video showing a smartphone device with a super thin bezel, which is expected to be the final design Mi MIX 2. Unlike the first generation that comes with a ceramic body, the second generation will rely on metal materials so that companies do not trouble in producing .
There is no definite news about the specifications, but Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is expected to come with Snapdragon 835, 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM. In addition, there is a higher variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. This smartphone is expected to come with a battery of 3,400mAh and run MIUI 9 when it’s slid.
